Oh great. Now just anybody can drive an STI. Hahah.
Ehh... I just hope that doesn't come around to the US.

haha, yah I agree. Although if Subaru continues their trend to be more luxury performance, it may actually happen one day to hit the mid level business sedan market (bmw 3 series, audi a4's). I think those are within the same price bracket as an STI just very different design goals.

They have the LGT for that. But honestly Deborah's 05 LGT with the push button 5 speed is pretty fin to drive still.

If they would put some kind of automated manual in the STI with flappy paddles(single or double clutch), I would trade my STI in as fast as they can get one to my specs. My left knee hurts darn it!

The LGT is not paddles, but it Is push button on the steering wheel. Kind of fun :)

Yeah. The Legacy GT is awesome. If anything, I would choose this over a BMW or a Merc simply because I know it'll be more fun.
The only fun BMW are the Ms, and for the Mercs... Well... SLR McLaren? Lol

The only thing I dislike about paddle shifters replacing a proper manual gear box is that you just don't have as much of a feel for the car as you would if you were shifting the gears yourself.
Here, you leave it all up to a computer, granted it will do it quickly and maybe even quicker than some, but you lose the feeling of near absolute control.
BUT, if it's all about comfort, sure, why not? Lol.

What year LGT do you have? I drove an 08 LGT auto and did not like it.

It's not a bad idea, but I would still prefer the manual. For an enthusiast like me, with a completely reconstructed left knee+some leg/bone, its alot of unneccesary pain. There's only so long I'll abuse my knee before I'll want a paddleshift or button feature, and when that time comes I hope there's something fun I can find.

    Any super car. Lulz.
    New IS.
    Genesis.
    Evo. Blech.
And maybe Subie will make the new Imprezas with an option for paddle shifters.

I would never ask for the flappy paddles to be standard with no manual available. I just want the option.

It's an 05. I am not saying they are great stock, but they are reasonably quick. It is more in the WRX range of power. But shifting through the gears with the push button shifter is still pretty cool. I just can't wait until it goes over 100k miles and the warranty is up:) The wife wants me to leave it alone till then:squint: But if some minor change to the ECU happens now and again and it just HAPPENS to feel a little more peppy than normal......

Hahah. Actually. The Genesis is a crazy beast.
A friend and I went down to Rick Case to check to see if they can work the recall on my car, and test out some cars.
Only got to test out the Genesis coupe, but it was the 3.8 V6 rather than the 2.0 Turbo, and that thing pushed like no other.
Out of the box, 3.8 V6 is ridiculous. But for the modders, 2.0 Turbo is where it's at.

    If/when I get a Genesis, it will be the 3.8 V6...track package.

You forgot the Camaro SS! It has paddles on the auto (but they detune the auto by ~25 hp)

I sat in one the other day. I did not like. The doors were up beside my head. Felt like I was sitting in a box.

Yeah I rented one from Avis a few months ago... its like driving a cruise missile. Its pretty quick in a straight line, but it can't turn much and you can't see anything behind you.

    Oh and its fugly.
