So this past Friday I go up to Lenox to do some Christmas shopping and stopped by the cingular store that’s across Lenox rd from the mall to pick up the 99x Christmas album. As I go to leave the parking lot traffic is stopped in all four lanes but the cars in the two lanes on my side of the road leave me a gap and I started to pull into the median lane (it was not yet a turn lane). I looked right to find a gap to try to get into as I was turning and when I looked back left this car was flying at me. I stopped and was moving the shifter to reverse before she hit me. She hit me completely in front of my driver’s side front wheel. I had changed my ecu to become stage 2 about 3 hours before. One cop called it in and another wrote it up and they both said there was very little chance I could argue it in court since I failed to yield while entering a roadway even though she was going about 45 down the middle lane with traffic in both lanes around her stopped. One of the guys that was right in front of the accident called me over to his window and gave me his number telling me that he would give me a statement in my favor due to how fast she was going. So if anyone knows what you have to do to get someone to write into court let me know. I can't wait to move out of Atlanta just so I don't have to deal with the traffic.

See if you can get an atty to help. Similar thing happened to my brother, he was making a left hand turn and a women (who was in the right hand turning lane made a left turn w/o looking) drove right infront of him, damn near taking the front clip off his car. He got a ticket because of failure to yield, when he was already in the intersection making the turn when SHE didnt yield and just pulled out. Dumb woman.

Yeah, she was 17 and goes to Paideia. She got out of her car and the first thing she said was "That was your fault right". As pissed as I was I at least had the decency to ask if she was alright first.

I was in a similiar situation, 9 months after i bought the car (in 02), my buddy had just finished putting on my muffler.. left his house, stop at a stop sign, crossed the road and wham, lady smashes into the rear pass side bumper, the car did a 180. Cop came, the woman argued i ran the sign, she had no insurance, no license on her.. Cop said he couldnt prove either of our stories, let us both go with tickets.. total BS.

!#$@ @#% and !@#$!... right there with you. FYI, if someone runs you off the road it's your fault for not maintaining your lane.

I was in a similiar situation also. i was making a left turn into the turning lane. my car was 97% in the lane and a truck comming from that side (riding the turn lane from the other light) tears the front end off my alty. the cop come the guy actually tells the truth gets the ticket and and a month later the ticket is a warning and the witness I had that spoke to his insurance co. didn't get his statment "on tape" and since my lawyer can't talk to him I have no witness (random guy who saw it) no case so can't go to court. :fawk:

I swear the next time I'm in a accident (which I hope is never again) i'm just gonna beat the sh*# out of who ever hits me!

yeah, i deal with this daily through insurance companies....

you're unlikely to succeed, but if you have a family lawyer or something bring it up.

Nuff said. Get her parents to pay for it.

Sucks, my older sister was also in a similar situation when she was in high school. She ended up being ticketed since it was her word as a 17 year old versus the 40year old that hit her.
