I don't actually think anything is wrong with my A/c, as it gets plenty cold and very fast too. I don't like to use it, but with this rain my windows keep fogging up:squint:

However when it is on, it tends to sound like it is sighing. About 10 secs. of sigh and then it does some more magic, and then sighs again. Anyone else's do this? It's kind of funny, and there doesn't seem to be any on/off change between the sighs. So I have no idea what it's doing. Never heard this on any other car so just wondering about it.

The AC in my 06 STI is *ridiculously* loud. It sighs, gurgles, pops and makes the clutch and gas pedals vibrate like crazy...to the point that I've almost dropped the car off at the dealer to have it checked. The air is cold, though. To make things worse, when the compressor kicks on as you are driving, it causes the car to jerk suddenly. I've had two passengers say, "wow, your new car is cutting out or something..."

Funny but my LGT, which had the same engine and what I'd suspect to be the same AC never behaved like this.

Well at my 3K oil change I'll bring it up to the dealer. I can just imagine them not being able to find anything wrong with it, especially since it blows cold.

I'm still fighting a pretty steep learning curve on this car. It makes a wider variety of misc noises at different times and under different circumstances than any car I've had.

I can feel my a/c cycle on and off on the highway. There is a slight jerk and a click noise. I was worried at first but now I don't care lol.

I don't mind the "wooshing." It's the jerking and clicking (& snapping & buzzing) that are driving me nuts. But other than that, I love it, of course....

i think the slight click is normal, an even the jerk is a bit normal. that's the car compensating rpms for the load put on the engine by the ac. you can have siegel tune that out (if you have ecutech) by simply having the rpms stay up or down when the ac is on.

i don't have the sigh, but i did in my miata. dunno what the hell that is, compressor building up?

if you have stock turbo/breathing (and didn't delete your silencer) parts you shouldn't hear a lot of whoosh or psht. it's faint.

that other shit on the '06 doesn't sound right though.

    hope that helps ;)

mine chirps. Like when I first turn on the AC you'll hear a little chirp and then it's fine. Then every couple of minutes you'll hear another chirp. I think it's because when I got in my wreck the people that fixed my car didn't do a very good job . As long as it doesn't blow up I don't care, it still gets cold.

hmm, ok well I'll just ignore it.

I never really notice the click for the a/c, but its very noticeable whenever I turn on my lights. Honestly on these cars the a/c lag isn't to bad. Once it does the small jerk(not to noticeable) I sometimes forget it's on. Most other cars I've driven have slowed wayyy down with the a/c on
