i've got some tein flex coils on my 02 wrx and totally forget how adjustable they are. i don't know how far to turn them for a softer or stiffer ride. i don't want to mess things up by turning them too far but i want to mess with the damping a little. please help...

they should be 24 point adjustable... clockwise to tighten, counter clockwise to soften... i have upgraded springs on mine... i like setting them to 14 clicks from softest in the rear and 11 clicks from softest in front

dont worry about playing with them... but ive heard dont go below 8 clicks from softest

    Are you sure it's 24? I'm almost positive that it's 16.

I just got my Tein Flex about a month ago and mine are 16 way adj.

I had Tein Flex on my 2002 WRX and I believe they were 24 way adj.
Maybe, Tein changed the setup on the Flex line from 24 to 16!
The new Flex goes past the 16 clicks but, in the manual it says it will damage it, if you do!

Yes, they are 16 way adj. I think it will be a personal preference on based on what feels good to you. Like you said, it's time to play. That said, I have my rear set at full stiff and front 2 clicks from full stiff. Also don't forget that you can adj. your front camber.

mine go to 27 clicks past softest, but the manual says 16-way. i've got f&r set to 14 from softest, trying to find the right mix to gain "neutral" inheirent steering.

i always keep my rears stiffer than the front... works well for a little on/off ramp fun :D

i'm guessing that induces oversteer ;)?

yup... but remember its lift throttle oversteer, not power oversteer... i only play around when theres nobody on the ramp besides me...

i upgraded my springs to 8k all around the older tein flex springs were softer (i think 4-5k)... not sure what spring rates they come with now but ive heard they stiffened them up

    wrx 04 flex: 10/559 front, 8/448 rear

i love just gliding through the long turns with a decent slip angle... it's my happy place ;)

i'm guessing the oversteer is helpful in tight auto-x situations too?

yes it definitely is... i heard joel fehrman's car (probably one of the best autocrossers in atlanta) has significant toe-out in the rear on his STi :eek:hnoes: ... oversteer much?!?!?
