My dad got rear ended . He called the police but my dad let the guy go.. The cop recorded the conversation saying the guy would have to pay my dad for the damages. The guy wont answer now. We have all his information.. anything we can do..?

Call his insurance company with a police report number. They should take care of it.

You are screwed...that is why you always file a police report. You have no proof this ever happened.

Yeah, you're screwed. If you have the information and the police won't file a report, you can always file a hit and run, but I'm not sure the statute of limitations on it. That would at least get the insurance company involved and get the car fixed.
