When I got my car is had a POS pioneer cd player in it, so I bought a midrange alpine and put it in. The only thing is, Even though I plugged the antenna in, i can't seem to get any good radio reception. Does anyone know where the antenna wire goes? Maybe it was disconnected somewhere down the line. Many FM channels I cannot get, and I know something is wrong because I dont even get AM750, which I know to have a strong signal throughout atlanta. Can you tell me anything to try to get better reception? dennis
on the 2004+ they use glass antennas, so you have to run a small current power to the violet wire on your harness, (labeled power antenna). I had that problem with my sony deck until i hooked that wire up, reception much better now.
if you have tint(metallic based) on the backglass, your entire AM is wiped out, and the FM will be affected somewhat.

Ahh maybe that is the problem. I have tint on my backglass, that may explain it. But it still sucks!!!! Oh well I'll just have to burn a lot of CDs I guess.
It is pin 14, but the color is not Violet. Here's a better radio harness pin-out and wire-color table On the car's factory harness, pin 14 will be a different color depending on the model and year. It's better to use an aftermarket wiring adapter (a "forward" harness) for your installation. Then it will be a Blue wire on pin 14. Most aftermarket head units have an output for "Power Antenna," which will also be a Blue wire. Connect that to the Blue wire on the wiring adapter. That's the best choice, since it turns on only while you're listening to AM or FM. If your HU doesn't have that wire, look for a wire for Amplifier Power (remote on). That's the next best thing to use, but it will be on whenever the HU is on -- even while you listen to CD or AUX. If your HU doesn't have either of those, then tie pin 14 to the +12V Accessory/switched line (Pin 10, Red wire on the aftermarket side). That will power the antenna amp whenever you turn on the key.
Well guys I just got around to pulling my radio out again to look at the antenna situation, and sure enough the power antenna wire was not hooked up. I've had my car for months now and never had radio until now!! THANK YOU!!!!!
