Well, I know there are a boat load of professional and amateur photographers on this site, including myself, and I really don't know what to do with my photos because I'm not really trying to go anywhere with photography at the moment. I have loved photography for many years, but feel like my photos are just wasting away on my hard drive. I feel like I should put a few of them somewhere where someone may appreciate them... I thought I would start a thread for if anyone snapped a cool pic they want to throw up, wether it be from an iphone or a $3,000 camera.... I got some cool shots today, and really I have no where else to put them, and I would love to see some other peoples stuff. and btw who ever said not to shoot at the sun?
nice! i think we attempted a picture thread once but it got lost in time. Thanks for starting this up, and I like the 'any topic' versus 'car/subie only shots'

lol. thanks! you've got some badass work in your portfolio too man! Seeing your posts and ben's is motivating me to get back into shooting for the hell of it, since it's sadly been a long time. Sorta lost some momentum because my car (favorite light test subject) has been down for a while.

You guys take some amazing shots. I am just really getting in photography and I have a very basic Rebel XS. What are you using for post-processing? I am personally using Adobe LightRoom but I am just using the very basic features of it.
Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned over the hardware. It's mostly the person behind the camera. Not to be all hippy/philosopher about it or anything, its just hardware only gets you so far, and I've handed over my camera to people during shoots and they've made 'meh' shots. You've got some nice composition going, so I think you are off to a nice start, just keep having fun and playing around. I always try to make myself learn something new on every shoot that i go on. As for the tech details, I us a Nikon d800, and a fairly decent assortment of lenses. For post work, i do the Lightroom to Photoshop if I do heavy editing, but a decent amount of my wedding work I can keep in Lightroom
^ for sure. When I bought more stuff my wallet just got thinner. I have seen people take some amazing shots with iPhones. Do lenses and bodies help you get different shots? Sometimes...but you would be amazed what practice and a camera that works can do. Canon 5D Mark III with mostly Lightroom and then Photoshop for the heavy lifting if I need it.
I agree with these guys in regards to gear. My buddy came out with me last night with mis mark III, and our shots look almost identical. I would say his are definitely a bit better quality, but hard to notice. I use a low end Nikon d3100. I do no post processing at all to be honest. I can use photoshop decently well, but choose not to use it. If I was doing this professionally, obviously I would. Edit: 2 or 3 of these photos are using the HDR effect from instagram
well, since iPhones were mentioned, and most of pictures are at home...I do enjoy these iPhone pics. water on the freshly waxed soob
Thanks for the info and the pep talk. I am just enjoying the camera as-is right now and it works great for me. The money I am using for gear is going into classes so that I can understand photography concepts and gas to drive to photogenic places. My Subaru is already doing a good job of thinning out my wallet . 1st shot taken with iphone..... Yes it is a shame I didn't have a dslr... I broke it that morning by dropping it on a tile floor. Third shot is of my dog max during snow snowpocalypse. He loved it!

Now that I am in Colorado I can't wait to really go out and shoot. This was with my crappiest equipment. I went snowshoeing and it dumped about 2 inches so I didn't want to bring any of my nicer stuff.
Some very nice photos, everyone. Here are a couple taken with my Canon gear. Just switched over a week ago to mirror-less and bought an Xpro-1. We'll see how that goes.
