'06 STi 5,000 miles. You know the sound it makes when your car is running and attempt to start the car while running. The starter sound? Well, I got that sound twice in 1 month. The car is off. key in ignition, turn to start, then grrrrrrrrgh! the starter sound. turn ignition off and try again, no problem. It has only happened twice in 5,000 miles....
    Anybody else experienced this?

In my experience that would indicate a starter going on ya....but I never experienced it in my subaru but it has happened to me on previous cars...wouldn't hurt to have the dealership check it out....but what are the odds it's gonna do it at the dealership?...IDK

With 5,000 miles... It sounds like a screwup in spacing from the factory. If you catch it quick, you can save your starter and flywheel

i rarely see starters go bad with that low of mileage, but its not impossible.
theres not really any spacers between trans and starter, they sit flush against eachother. it sounds like maybe you have a problem with the starter solenoid. when i test a starter on a car that is intermitent i switch the key on untill i hear the starter bump over but dont let it completely turn over and just keep bumping it. sure enough if the stater is bad it will eventually make that click sound and not turn over at all. only once is all it takes then i throw a new one on.

Cool, I will try that if I hear the solenoid again, cause if I take it to Subaru, the solenoid will not act up. And they'll say " It sounds good to me...... " well, hopefully it wont hapen again.

man, i'm having a little problem with ignition too. like, i would turn the key, and it seems like the starter works fine, but the engine takes a while to start.. it's really hard to explain. it's like

    1. put in key and turn the key
    2. usually it goes, ta-da-da, and then bam.(wow i had to get creative)
    3. when it is kind of cold, or the car has been inactive, it goes, tadada da da da da dada da da (and the sound almost dies) and then bam.

i know that it's really hard to tell, but wth is wrong with my car?

sounds like a waek battery. have you checked to see what kinda voltage your battery is putting out, and if it is being charged correctly by the alternator

i checked the battery itself about 1000 miles ago, but not if it is being charged correctly with the alternator. i`m thinking something wrong with my alternator.
