What is it, why did it happen?

2002 WRX, turboback catless exhaust, cobb stage 2 map, comptech flywheel.

I was near the top of third around 5-6k. It flashed about 6 times and then stopped. Tried to pull the code with my access port, but I got nothing back. I was about a quart low on oil. Hasn't happened again.

I have read that the lighter flywheel can cause misfire codes...could be?

My main question here is what does the blinking CEL mean?

Yeh, flashing CELs are never a good thing imo.

Hmm, I bet you hit some sort of boost cut. It'll flash the CEL when you do that. I forget the code, its P0205 or something like that (overboost).

I thought that the AP eliminated the boost cut altogether.

I have been looking for the post about lightweight flywheels and misfire CELs...can't find it.

Hmm, you might be right. Let me check my overboost thread :p

...I stand corrected, overboost will cause a CEL (which in turn disables cruise and blinks the cruise indicator)

No with street tuner you have the ability to disable the codes, but it does not automatically disable the overboost code. In fact I would not want it to...if I am going over 22 psi I really want to know about it.
