I was thinking about making a purchase of this hks down pipe

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120061406609&fromMakeTrack=true

"Used once and taken off. This downpipe will cause your stock turbo to boost creep and shut off the ecu. If you dont have an upgraded turbo or wastegate you need to adress that issue first. I wouldnt want anyone to buy this and have the same problem as me. It made a huge difference without the cats in spool up time but like I said it did cause enough boost creep to shut the car down. After I shut the car off and turned it back on everything was fine. I then learned about the need to upgreade the wastegate or ideally turbo set up."

Is this a possable problem ???

Only if you have no EM.

Boost creep is a mechanical issue with the vf39s (wg is too small). When other options exist out there (bellmouth), I wouldnt settle for a stock design (flatplate). The choice is yours of course.

first off, boost creep doesn't turn off the ecu, it cuts the fuel delivery for a very short period of time. i ran my Catless TBE for a short time with no EM, and only hit creep a few times. I would suggest looking into some form of EM.

and now for the shamless plug about my dp for sale, hehe.

I personally like the bellmouth design. I don't think there is much of a difference between divorced and bellmouth, although there is a lot of debate over the subject. Mine is a TurboXS bellmouth that starts at 4" and tapers to 3". I personally like this design from what I have read, but everyone has their opinions. The only advantage of a flat plate design is lack of a cat. But there are better designs out there in my personal opinion.

Invidia bellmouth is great. Sakari Motorsports, a registered vendor with us, is an authorized Invidia dealer. Send him a PM!

I will do that then. Eather way after haveing SOG put the downpipe and exhaust on I was going to have SS tune it so it won't void the warranty.

You'll need to port the turbo wastegate and even then you might still get boost creep. I was getting creep bad with my vf39 on my 2.0 liter. Will ported the turbo and now it is not as bad, only on cold days. But low RPM boost suffered some.
