So I went up to the mountains today. Re-flashed the ecu to stage 2 from econo mode. About 10 miles in I was flooring it in third and as the turbo spooled up it spiked way past 20 lbs(stock turbo), and then dropped back down and went back up again. Got up to the top and reflashed again to make sure everything went fine. It did it again. It does it in 3-5 gears. Any suggestions?

ots map? if so I don't believe it would ever go over 20lbs, thats probably the boost cut for an ots map, i think stage 2 ots maps are 16 psi peak boost.....

but like weapon said check the vac and boost lines...

Lines are good. Since I am catless, belmouth, and about 45-50 degrees outside could it be boost creep?

Or if it is not mechanical, try adjusting the WGDC in the map. This a 2.0 block with a td04 turbo (stock wrx) ? Have you been pro-tuned or is it just completely ots? Ap1 or AP2?

If it does it on the stock map you have a mechanical issue, if it doesn't do it on the stock map then it just needs tuning...

has it done it today at all? It happened to me on the dragon. My needle read 22 psi but it sure as hell didnt feel like it. It was my intercooler coupler. We were pushing so hard it loosened up a bit and leaked out.

It happened all day. Just uninstalled the ap, and still did it. I will look at the coupler. Thanks Dana and SS

If you have high boost, look at the boost control vacuum lines.

I also had an issue where the nipple on the wastegate actuator had a slight crack in it. This caused it to boost too high.
