so i've read all the things people have to say on nasoic and the other sites. but i wanna know first hand. many people say NOT to run an MBC on our cars because the ECU has a hard time going from closed to open loop mode and when you hit full boost at partial throttle the ecu doesn't compensate well enough on the fuel side. well i've got a txs MBS and i just wanna set it 14 lbs so that it doesn't bleed boost after 5k rpms. is it going to be a huge problem? anyone have any experience? also i wanna do this w/o replacing my uppipe as of yet. it'll be coming but my friend doesn't have all of his equipment yet to make it
Faysal and I put one in his car, we didnt have any issues with the install, pretty straight forward. As for the controller, he seemed to like it, it was quite safe as well. I believe its back out of his car now though, but I cannot remember for the life of me why he took it out.
dont run a MBC without supporting guages, or you might not know your engine is running lean, and running too lean is what causes holes in pistons.
ive had some fun with an mbc in my car...and i say to stay away from it. if you know what your doing and what to watch for(ptfb), and of course proper guages, you should have no ill effects. just treate the car like i treated mine, if your in boost...go wot...not part throttle. btw- your car will still blead up top...just not as bad. cruising is a real pain, you cant use cruise control becuase if there is enough load to need boost, your going to get a full 14 lbs...which will make you run way lean , and if you want to accelerate, you have to go wot for the same reason stated above. plus, it makes the move to an upgraded ecu so much sweeter:bigthumb: fyi- do not replace the stock hoses on the T connection once removing the mbc, the smallest hose running from the compressor housing to the T connection has a restrictor in it(which i of course had to learn the hard way).
