I bought my first Subaru October 2008. :wiggle: It is a 2002 Silver bug-eye. It is the first turbocharged car I have ever owned and I have ever driven. I bought it completely stock besides a boost gauge. It needed a new clutch due to a little slippage. I currently have only been with it for a week because it had to stay in Atlanta for a new clutch. I am a student at the University of Alabama and there are not many Subarus over here. I will get pictures up as soon as I get it to school. Here is a list of mods that i plan on doing this year: Cobb cat-back Cobb AP TopSpeed tune Cobb sway bars (front and rear) STi Hood scoop Sti Shift knob New Tires My WRX: OK. Update time. 6/29/2009 Since buying the car I have done: STi Hoodscoop Prodrive Springs Prodrive UP powdercoated wheels some others I cant think of Here are some recent pics: Here's a Side By Side:
Finally got my car to school .The new clutch is awesome. I had a Kartboy short shifter installed too. I'm going for a drive tomorrow and will take pics.
Man, thats really a clean bugeye. I kinda want one lately. I mean i love my car but if I could do it again I'd buy a bugeye and use the remaining money to swap in a six speed.
Yeah I hope it will last me a long time. I'm gonna do everything I can to keep her nice and running strong!
OK. Ive accomplished a few mods since purchase. 1. STi cat-back (I hated the dual tip of the stock) 2. New tires (doesn't really count as a mod) 3. I took my muffler off for the hell of it to see what it sounds like and I like it! So I decided to make a very small turn-down straight pipe to redirect the exhaust fumes. I made a 1/4in thick flange today, and I am going to tig weld the turn-down on to it so I can take it on and off whenever I feel like putting the muffler back on. 4. A WRX front license plate I'll post pics tomorrow after I get her washed.
if you want an axleback made that is straight pipe with a flange i can get you it done really cheap...you would be surprised how much quieter it will be in the car if it runs out the back!
I'm tired of quiet. And now that I am in Alabama for the next few months, I can be AS LOUD AS I WANT!!! Hooray for Alabama not having any exhaust laws!!
oh you would be loud but it would all be directed behind you... im just saying that with a turn down and it under the car you will hear it more inside of the car than if it was ran out the back... i love loud i am 3 inch straight pipe man!
Yeah I get what your saying. I went to a custom exhaust shop today got quoted $90 for a 2.5in straight-pipe bent to exit where the muffler exits. I was like, "Hell no!" I can do all of it myself in the schools Formula shop which is where I have been all day today.
but you will love it, if its anything like where i am no one seems to know its a 4cyl i always get asked if its a v8 and i smile and say yes...lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xeTVr5tz-Y Heres a vid of the muffler dicsonnected. Im going to finish the turn-down today and install with pics.
ok wasnt sure since it was on in the video... cant wait to hear it when you get on it... here is a clip of mine http://videos.streetfire.net/video/WRX-LOUD-EXHAUST_317265.htm
let me know when your gonna be in town i have a flanged axleback thats 2.5 inch that i can give you for cheap... all you would need to do is weld some hangers to it...
OK. I took a lot of pictures last night of my new setup and a friends TL. Parking garage on campus. Some cops rolled by and asked if the pics were for a scrap book...? We said yeah :rofl:!! Here they are:
Installed an black STi piston shift knob (thanks to JL889), and did the pin stripe grill mod in WRB! Pics tomorrow!
Went out on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon and snapped some pics: Hope you like them, don't care if you don't.
Man just go for it. Get some prime and silver that matches your car the best. Make sure your side skirts are clean, prime it, than go with the silver.
