This is the second time in less than a year that I got my car broken into. Fucking assholes. I'm a broke college student. Do you really think I have any of value?

Last time was in your apt complex, right? If it happened there again I'd raise a big stink with everyone to raise awareness. Might get apt. mgt. to do something about it. Most places won't bother until renters start leaving.

That sucks. I suggest moving to a different apartment. Or set up a trap. Put something that is expensive looking inside the car and hook an electrical current to it. Have it grounded so when its moved it loses its ground. ZAP! I loathe theives.

Matt was the one that got his broken into at his apartment. I was parked in a LOT on Ponce De Leon and West Peachtree. I do have the factory alarm (however good that is). And there is a red blinking led on my dash. I think this time I'm going with a more expensive and sensitive system. Also tinting my windows so you can't see what kind of stereo I have. And a stereo that detaches.

The one shady thing about this is there was a HUGE black suv parked next to me. It was pretty much blocking all view of my car. So I think some guy parked next to me. His friend came and broke into it and ripped it out. Then the owner of the car comes to pick up his vehicle the next morning. Perfect scam.

Oh and the factory alarm wasn't going off when I got there.

yes, that was me. Mine was broken into in my condo complex. That happened back in January. I'm STILL getting shit straightened out. What a nightmare it's been as well. So far, the tally for parts and labor is over $1000. fuckers. I hope to have everything ssquared away this week...

Wes, sorry shit happened to your car. I hate it for ya. And I know how you feel. ;)

FTR, the factory alarm will only go off for about 5 minutes, then it's back to normal. my VIPER alarm was armed, but apparently never went off....that makes no sense at all....

Sorry dude My car got broken into last june as we'll ,right in front of my new house! They stole my stereo cut the wires to my Turbo timer and stole it then they took my dash trim! those asses! but any way renters ins will cover if you have because my homeowners ins did. It sucks though so i know how you feel. I would bate the car one night and sit out with a pellet gun and shoot the bastards when they try to break in again its hilarious to watch them run and yell when they get shot with a pellet I have done this before! You get satisfaction with out killing some one! :naughty:

dang man sorry to hear for sure....i think you can get the belongings insured through homeowners insurance. I would suggest getting some form of alarm with a pager and loud siren.

Yeah I'm looking into a much better security system than stock. I'm also looking at the Hella supertone groupbuy. As well as tinting my windows. And even a quickrelease steering wheel. Plexiglass windows. Titanium body panels. Ok so the last two I'm not serious. But everything else is being worked on hehe

Only thing they took was my Pioneer 860mp headunit. So if anyone sees a used one being sold somewhere please let me know.

I just want to add my .02. I think that Tinting Windows is not a good theft deterent. The way I see it, you tint your windows to hide something. That is a sure fire sign that there may be something of value that the owner is trying to hide. The only true benefit I see to window tinting is that if someone breaks into your car by breaking the window, the tint will hold all the pieces of glass together, so you won't have a mess to clean up the next day.

Again, that is my opinion on tinting windows because of the car getting broken into. Back in my more imature and destructive days, I used to do stupid stuff like that and if the car had tinted windows, and aftermarket wheels, I knew there would be something of value inside the cabin.
