Maybe it's just me because I get shocked A LOT. I swear to god everytime I get out of the car I get shocked when i close the door. And if someone touches me when i'm in the car i get shocked. Maybe it's because i don't have leather. This doesn't just happen with my car though, at the mall when i have to open a push door i always push on the glass so that the little metal bars dont shock me haha.

Anyone else get shocked a lot?

    and fleece hates me.

I'm terrified of opening doors during the winter, I approach with caution. Hey, they actually make a little anti-static thingy to put on your door panel. You just rub it when you get out. I wish I could remember where I had seen it...oh well.

its actually your tires that causes it. The dryer air of the winter just makes it more noticeable. Bascially the compounds they use to make your tire can build up static electricity which gets transferd to you and then you release the spark.

My dad actually found out this did work when he replaced his tires with new ones and now he doesn't get shocked as much.

I've seen those chain things you hang on the exhaust which drags on the road when you are driving which discharges all the electric charges... Looks pretty ghetto though ;)

I remember learning in physics that one factor is also the air. In the winter and cooler seasons here, it's dryer outside which will make a bigger shock. Once summer comes and it's more humid, it'll be less of to none of a shock.

it's a problem so common with subarus that the manufacturer has a solution. check out http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php i know it's on there somewhere it's a pad with a small wire runing into the widow seal for each door. it's a subaru oem part that keeps the car from shocking you.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the interference I get in my speakers? I have a carPC and I am getting nasty interference sounds like a buzzing in the speakers that it is driving me insane.
