To my understanding, you have to sign up with them and pay $80.00. You also have to attend and enter a certain amount of carshows and in exchange you get a hookup with alot of parts companies like HKS, etc and can buy parts at Wholesale. I talked to them when I was doing my 240 build in highschool but new I couldnt meet the contract requirements. I had a few friends that did it and they say its legit. I kinda wished I did it when I was building my wrx but I found ebay instead. You wont be able to get a hook up on an engine swap but for suspension, graphics, and bodykit stuff (pretty much the Rice) it may be worth it.
Its a scam, my buddy did it a few years ago, and after he paid the $80 they said he had 3 or 4 sponsorships... they all ended up being either audio wholesale shops or sticker/vinyl crap companies... Dont wast your time.
its not a scam....people just either dont fulfill their commitments hence the reason why they got garbage or ricey crap.....i was with em for 3 yrs....btw i only paid a fee once....but if you are serious about showing & love the attention from whoring your car out....it can work for u.....i got quite a bit of free stuff & some awesome discounts. :fawk:
im a part of it right now. you pay $80. then you make a profile like myspace but its all about your car. then you send your profile to the companies that you like. and if they like your car they give you free stuff. you have to go to a certain amount of car shows and sometimes run a sticker. i wouldnt recomend joining unless you have a scion. there the only ones that seem to be picked.
Sponsorships are overrated. I was sponsored by SEVERAL shops back when I was actively drag racing and showing the car. True I save TONS of money on CHEAP or free parts (all of my Perrin stuff, rims, body kits, etc) but the aggravation of driving everywhere and pleasing everyone killed me. Then many of the promises of free/cheap stuff never gets met (Perrin screwed me royally even with SS doing me some favors with people he knew). Every weekend I was doing something and it took time from my wife. Finally fulfilled all my contracts and said the heck with it as I would rather spend my time with the wife and family. That's why my modding has significantly slowed down.
