Like from here to parts of Fla. or something or any surronding states what do ya think. :ddirty: or we could go real big and do a cross country thing like say from here to Cali but that would move out of the whole cheap catagory. Considering the real one would cost 25-35 thousand and up.

I know that whys I said "cheap" we "supposed" to drive the speed limit if you get caught it's your ticket your problem. there is never really a Winner per say just the fun of runnin down somewhwere meetin up an havin a g2g, party etc. and have some fun at the beach to boot. and come back over the weekend or somethin. Hmm. So should it be just a one way or a down and back?:dunno
.... not much 'open road' to 285, but might be a fun way to kill a few hours as long as traffic's light. hmm If we do that, I think it should be starting topend eastbound about and hour before sunset.
Oh the 55 MPH would be awsome in a way. Can't really get pulled over (can you?) but it would be intresting to see 5 rows of Subarus just slowly cruiseing along....

Well, you actually can get pulled over. Although we would be going the posted speed limit, we would also be impeding the flow of traffic and that can get you a ticket.
We could do some sort of road rally where you have to follow directions that are printed out beforehand (distance and direction, no road names :naughty: )

yeah, i think we should drop any ideas that this would be anything like a Gumball 3000 run. The idea of this event is to be street racing, and to be so eleetist and rich that it doesn't matter if the cops pull you over. I dunno about any of you, but I'm not so rich that a ticket won't hurt. It would be wise to just re-think what we want to do. If we're just looking for another excuse to all get together & take a nice drive, then we should set up the event to do just that, rather then try to pattern it after something its not. We would want to get together so we would start at the same place, and then select a destination to crash at some point later.

"cheap" is a relative notion. It's the kind of the cheap that I have to save a few years for It is attainable: 3K per car, 1500/person
I always thought it would be cool if we had a large group in Fla/Ala/Miss/etc, if we all drove down there to chill with them for the weekend.
LOL! hotel,food,drinks and gas waay cheaper. I've been to pcb and had a ball on $150 for the weekend.
Also landmarks and other stuff.. like "turn right at the house with a mailbox shaped like a whiskey barrel" type directions. Some friends of mine have done rallies like these in the past and had a blast. Much nicer than racing around and breaking laws left and right like a bunch of immature douchebags.
I hate to say it, but I have never been to FL. LOL I went to school an hour or so away..I may be game

well if you are comparing 1500 against to 30,000 entry fee for a gumball 3000 then it's realtively cheap. By no means though, can I afford that. I like the idea of meeting all the subarus in the souteash at a decided spot for a weekend.
I might be down for a SE g2g....I'm with Brian with the whole mileage thing though....my commute is too long as it is......but a long weekend with friends, fun, and subies would change my mind....
use my father's 4Runner roll down the back window and use it for a photo vehicle, it works fantastically if there is a huge group of people going 80 on 285 they are just going to be like awww fff it
I love roadtrips, especially now that we have our STi, but the gas prices now a days make me sick. I've never been to FL, so that would be a good excuse to go..........and for the WRXatl people too of course!

We did brasstown bald a couple of months back and it was fun. It's bad enough that when i'm tryin to do the speed limit someone is mad, and when I pass them they still mad so ya really cant win lol.
