30 mph over in 55, and HOV lane restriction...

my first time getting a ticket and i got two at once....

i know i was really stupid that day to go across the HOV by myself, but i was really in a hurry....

    but yea, never again..

i`m 19 and i am wondering what will happen to me. i hear that most likely my license will be suspended... damn

    can anyone help me out?

Ah, if it was City of Atlanta you'd have a chance to get thrown in the Teens Learning Control program like I did and keep your license. Don't know anything about Doraville Court. Ticket will probably be $300-500, if you have $800 for a lawyer I'd go ahead and get one on notice, then after talking with the solicitor if it looks like you're gonna lose your license and you can afford a lawyer then bring in the big guns. Only way to keep it is to get the ticket reduced to 23 over. Sometime you can also contact the officer for a reduction. Good luck! Been there :hsugh:

Okay, this is the second person tagged for over 25 over on 85 in the last week. Slow down guys and girls! With the Dekalb campaign and Doraville being, well, Doraville, it just makes sense to slow it down a little. I am not a fan of speeding laws as they currently exist. I am not chastising those who have been given tickets, but since it seems there is an increase in enforcement lately, just slow it down a little for awhile...

I would rather be late than risk a big ticket. If I am nore than 10 over then I have not set the cruise. 75 is my limit.

Slow down and be safe out there.

I got the same tickets in the past...

got a lawyer and paid $500..

didnt even have to go to court..they both were thrown out =]

you just have to get a good lawyer and ask what he can do for you..

    good luck though

Section 40-14-9 of the Georgia Code states that law enforcement officers may not use radar detectors on any portion of highway having a grade in excess of 7 percent. Section 40-14-2 states that radar detection devices may only be operated with a permit. Section 35-8-12 states that officers must keep a log on the device as well as take a refresher course on the device. 40-14-7 states that the vehicle from which the device is being used must be visible from a distance of at least 500 feet

maybe this helps. I researched this for a law class project. I know it would have been helpful for me when i got my 1424543562 tickets.

I like Atlanta for the simple reason that if your late...just say you got caught in traffic....99% of the time they don't even question it...or atleast in my experience..

I can tell you if you were on a bike then the HOV lane is made for bikes along with 2 or more people in a car. If you were pulled over in the HOV lane in a car with only you in it then your screwed. Get a damn good lawyer cause being in the HOV lane itself w/o having another person in the car is bad. That along with speeding is no bueno....good lawyer....Prepaid legal is awesome!!hehee

It is recorded and officers usually know where these areas are and do not run rador or laser on them...however even the greatest incline on a hill in Duluth city limits was not 7% so it was not an issue for us. If they have a permit for that section of the road then it is under a 7% grade.

argh, I got caught going 100 in a 70 by Gwinnett and need to know whats the worst that'll happen from them. Also got me for window tint.
and Whats the best way to plead No-Lo without a Lawyer, I can't afford one right now.

I'm 20 so if I can just send in payment I'll do that.

Not sure that 'good' and 'cheap' lawyers usually go together :) but I was happy with the one I used, his name was Lee Perkins - about $800 for my case. PM me if you want his number. Handles a lot of Atlanta area traffic cases.

I'll agree with you there, not sure either. Maybe I'll just do no-lo without a judge and ask him/her to give me driving school, it worked for a co-worker, 'cept he had a lawyer.
