I am a metal fabricator by trade and I was thinking of making my own strut tower brace and possibly some other chassis stiffening pieces. curious if anyone has had any experience doing this or could suggest a particularly effective brace design to duplicate. I know that once you consider the amount of time involved its prob cheaper to just buy one but I wanna see what I come up with. Once I get started I will post progress and results.

Front shock tower braces on Subarus have little effect since the shock towers are so close to the firewall they don't flex much.

The rear shock towers do move quite a bit, look into the car-lab x brace for inspiration.

Also consider doing something like the M1 front subframe, it replaces the big bulky factory unit thats there.

Both of those look very effective and very do-able thanks for the suggestions.

Yes Sir, I've had both of them on Race Cars at some point and they both actually work. Most of the other stuff out there is just fluff.

Their design isn't bad, I wish it went all the way to the front like the M1. That being said, if I was going to build one I would redesign it from the ground up to have mounting points for under trays, or perhaps a front splitter. I would add some more triangulation as well.

good to see a steel one still saves weight over the stocker, wasn't looking forward to shelling out for cro mo. I'm convinced. If I can get a jig made maybe I'll make a few if people are interested.
