Egt reading range

    Does anyone know what range of temperatures the Egt should read, or maybe the max it should be.

    if your going over 1k C then you have problems

    depends on where your EGT probe is
    normally cylinder #4 is a good place
    1400 F highway 70 mph is normal
    1550 WOT
    1600 deg F is whan you should be alarmed
    EGT at the DP is useless - too far and too late

    thanks guys! I have mine on the driver side where the exhaust from the two cylinders merge.
