Exhaust silencers.

    I have a silencer for my perrin twin tip. I use it on long road trips. It helps quite a bit but really puts a hurt on the power.

    Certainly can't go wot while it is in.

    creates to much back pressure takes away abilty to spool up

    Bad things. Imagine a tune for a 3" exhaust running with a 1.5" exhaust.

    well if you run half open while driving through your neighborhood and no boost you should be OK

    The only thing i can see happening is the turbo not spooling on on time and the car running rich.

    silencers rattle like crazy at idle.

    I rocked one for a few years because of 112 mile round trip commute. It hurt power (20hp to the wheels on the topspeed dyno) but it made the car way more livable.
