Feels like the brake pads are on their way out. Hearing those pads making some noise when I stop. I was curious since this is just my DD if I should do more than just replace the pads? Also, is this something that could be done easily myself with a jack?

Yes you can do this yourself very easily. Just changing pads is essentially one bolt and the caliper rotates up. You will need a big c-clamp to push the cylinder back in. If it is JUST a DD, I would get some good ceramic pads. Use the coupon code "ccabin" to get $40 off a $100+ purchase at Advance Auto Parts and pick up in store.

check your rotors too, they may need to be re surfaced or replaced depending on wear. If you get new ones its still a DIY job

Buy a manual, or find one online that guides you through everything. Or get a friend that has done it before.

These are your brakes, they're kind of important. You don't want to realize you did something wrong when you're going 50 and try to stop at a red light.
