Ped and I are putting a new clutch in my car this weekend, and I have a stock flywheel I need to have resurfaced before this weekend. I have found some places to have this done, but I wanted to see if anyone has someone they would recommend and what a fair price is for a resurface.

Had mine done at NAPA for $44. Next day turnaround. No idea if that's a good price or not, they're on the way to work, so they get most of my business just for the convenience.

Does any NAPA do it or only certain ones? Which one did you have it done at? Do you live in Peachtree City, assuming from you username.

call a local shop that does brakes. All they do is put the flywheel on the lathe. It takes 15 minutes.

One of my co workers knows a machine shop close to my office that will do it while you wait, so today I am heading over there to get it done. I will post my experience with them up, in case anyone needs to have it done in the future.

Thats not too far from my office, would they know what to do if I told them it was for an STi? I assume those tabs are the little tabs around the outside of the flywheel.

They'll know what to do. The prices there are also very good.

I went to the place LiquidForce recommended and I couldn't be happier, I was missing a tab and they replaced it. They charged only $30 and it took about 20 minutes. The flywheel looks almost brand new. I recommend this place to anyone who needs any clutch parts. They told me they could rebuild my old disc with kevlar instead of organic for much less than a new one. http://local.findtarget.com/listings/georgia/atlanta/retail/specialty_clutch_service_inc/

    Hello and thanks

    Mike,

Finally got the WRX 5MT out of the SVX last night and sure enough the Mother in Law wore it out all the way. She won't drive it again. The flywheel has a couple hot spots so I'll take it up to the Clutch folks you recommend. Thanks for the tip.

P.S. I got the Clutch kit from "thepartsladi" on ebaymotors for $179 shipped. Not bad huh? They are in Crestview florida but the kit was dropped shipped from southern AL on Thursday and I got it Friday! Cam with everything including a new pilot bearing and alignment tool. It's just the stock...Stage1 clutch but that's all I need. Cya around...Marc

Cool Marc. Glad it all worked out for you.

Here's a little more free advice.

Don't let your mother in law drive it again. ;)
