beside sticking a napkiin or something similar in between to keep stuff from rattling does anyone know a good way to stop this annoying problem. what's rattling is where my clock is on the dash. the little peice that you could take out say if you wanted to put the gauge cluster in you car. please help. there are few things in life that annoy me and this is close to the top

I have a really bad one under the dash somewhere in the corner on the drivers side. If you beat the top of the dash really hard with your fist, it'll stop for a minute or two... It bugs the hell out of me!

The first six cars I had I bought for a combined total of 1,000 dollars. One thing I learned from driving around in POS cars is how to deal with rattles and squeaks.

Clear RTV Silicone applied to the offending piece will resolve it.

But you have to find it first... I can't really crawl under the dash on the driverside while I'm driving...
