Im getting ready for a protune in the next few weeks and right now im just running the stage 2 map on the accessport. im not looking for a hardcore tune but just something fun i can daily drive. right now i have a turbo back exhaust, up-pipe, cobb intake and gimmick turbo inlet. i just ordered a walbro fuel pump but im wandering what else would benefit a good solid tune. im wanting a front mount so that will be ordered somewhat soon but im just curious to what you guys think.

If you are only stage 2 and aren't planning a big turbo upgrade than I would think that a front mount would be overkill.

fmic is waste of time and money, maybe a sti or fleabay top mount and a nice drop in filter. spend your money on brakes and or suspension

so you guys are saying a bigger intercooler (front mount or top mount) would benefit the tune in any way? i can understand the front mount for a bigger turbo but maybe a bigger top mount?

I'm quite partial to the simplicity of an upgraded tmic. We run a t3/t04s rotated kit on the race car and have made 500+ whp so I know a good top mount can support a decent amount of power.

If I hadn't hacked up the bumper cover on my daily driver I would have long since switched back to a top mount.

I wish I hadn't spent so much time and money upgrading and switching parts. You really should have a plan and stick to it.

Also a part like a fmic or a tmic is something that you can generally buy used and not have to worry. Turbos, injectors and fuel pumps you have to be a lot more careful buying used but if you do you can save a ton of money.

Well like I said as of right now I'm not looking to do any huge upgrades. My wrx is still a daily driver and I just want to basic mods and a protune for safety. The car runs pretty good right now and down the road I def plan on some big upgrades. I'm a fan of the gtimspeed products and I want the air oil seperator because of the oil I found in the turbo inlet and around the unethical of the turbo. But as far as the protune goes I think I'll just stick with the mods I have now plus the new fuel pump I just ordered. Still debating on the top mount though. Any more advice or recomendations for mods for decent numbers?

If you're not looking at any huge upgrades, I would go out and purchase a STI TMIC and upgrade your front and rear sway bar plus front and rear endlinks and call it a day. This way you'll gain some good quality go fast bits as well as some minor suspension upgrades to balance out the fun.
