SO... my RE01Rs on stock rims (2005 STi) are starting to make me nervous... so I've had my eye out for some new tires.

I shoulda bought the ones that were on the boards a couple weeks ago, b/c I like the look of the SVNs a bunch, but they got eaten up. SO, I found these and sent the paypal last night.

Now for questions (and there are a few):
    1. Will I need to do anything to make this wheel/tire combination fit (as far as rubbing etc goes)
    2. I'm kind of looking to get the car "refreshed", especially related to my front bumper (paint chips and attachment points kinda blah). Where should I go to get it touched up and attached TIGHTly. Oh, and how much do you think it may cost?
    3. Also CONSIDERING possibly moving away from my RCE Yellows to tighten up the ride but also make it more comfortable as a daily driver. THinking about the BC Coilovers (BC Series)... question is... do I get buy from a vendor online and find someone local to install or take it to a local shop? And just curious about thoughts on the actual Coilovers...
    4. Next up, I bought some spark plugs a while back, and just found em in my trunk yesterday... thought I had gotten them installed. So... with 83k on the car, and OEM sparkplugs... where should I get this done, and about how much will it cost? (Maybe could be done at same time as the coilovers (if that happens :) )
    5. Next, Ped did my dif/trans fluid changes about 35k ago... is it time to do it again
    6. And Lastly... with 83k on the clock, when do I do my timing belt? And are there any other major maintenance items I need to consider?

If you can't tell... I'm basically looking to refresh the car so I don't feel like buying a new one anytime soon... I think it can be done without breaking the bank... thoughts?

If you want a softer ride for Daily Driving, don't get Coilovers. If you decide to get Coilovers, don't pay for installation, do it yourself. It is not hard.

We just swapped out RoMe's suspension a couple weeks ago at Ped's. It took about 3 hours from start to finish. I am sure if you asked Ped, he would be willing to help, and I would be happy to come over and lend a hand as well. We can also replace your Spark Plugs at the time.

You are close enough to the mileage to replace the fluids again, and just like everything else, we can do it at Ped's.

Timing Belt replacement is at 90K or 120K, check your owners manual.

All the above can be done with the help of a friend or two, and save you a shit-ton of money as opposed to paying a shop to do it. Offer up a case of beer and pizza and I am sure you would have volunteers to help do the work.

So BC's aren't gonna be much better than my RCE yellows?

Prior to going to BC I had a Tein and Koni yellow setup (which I thought was perfect, for me). But if I could do it again I'd buy BC CO first.. Perfect set up for the money. +1 on what 420 said...they are pretty easy to install.

    You da man pED...

    So here's another question...

I have 83k miles on my car... and I've had yellows for the last 30k... when is it time to replace the struts? That's kinda why I'm even considering coilovers... because if I'm gonna spend money on the struts and go through the install (still with stock sway bars, etc) why not spend a little more for the coilovers?

Honestly I don't even know how much decent struts cost :) Thoughts?

Get the BC Coil Overs. I wish I would have done that to begin with. Love mine and they can't be beat for the money.

    83K miles ago

Very decent struts KONI (front:8610-1351SPORT rear:8610-1440SPORT) probably 800+.

BC BR series run anywhere between $950-1200

So, def spend a little more for the coilovers. You won't regret it

Cicio mentioned $900ish... without rear camber plates. There's a place on iwsti that advertises as the only authorized "dealer" and mentioned that their prices are guaranteed the lowest anywhere... and probably no tax. IF I go that route... do I need the rear camber plates? And what spring rates? 99% road... lots of interstate with a dream of tracking years away...
