i got a pair from dynamic sound, $50 or so with lifetime warranty - if one ever breaks just bring it in and get a new one.
one of my matsushita ballasts went out so im using these now, they are good for the price.

True, and there is some real junk out there as well. I prefer acytelyne for the true retro look myself, has a nice french yellow glow

I strongly advise against installing a HID kit into a halogen lamp setup. You will produce unwanted glare and as a result you will blind oncoming traffic. I received your PM but I do not sell HID kits for this use. D2S only.

Lots of people are reporting issues with the DDM stuff on HIDPlanet.com from what I have seen.

Jake - sorry that test ballast never made it out to you. I ended up needing it.

well its one thing to put HIDs in reflector housings that weren't manufactured for them and having them blind oncoming traffic then its another thing to get super high Kelvin colors that have absolutely zero light output. and to put those in reflector housings is even stupiderererer

i did my retrofit for under 350
HIDs will improve but it will glare onto oncoming drivers

I would be happy to elaborate on this in PM. The cliff note story is that "HID Kits" do not improve output. The only thing that they are guaranteed to do is produce glare, cause unnecessary stress on your eyes at night and waste your money. I know that this is not what you want to hear but hey, hopefully it will save you some money in the long run.

I haven't brought up HID kits in a while because frankly I grew tired of having to dispel the "HID Kit Myths" and having no one listen. It really boils down to basic science regarding wavelengths, bulb design (or the lack there of) and reflection / refraction. I encourage you to read more information on high intensity discharge lighting in general on websites such as HIDPlanet.com and High-Intensity.org. At the very least, you will be able to make an educated purchase in the future.

I can't begin to tell you how utterly annoying and distracting it is to have some schmuck behind me with HID's in stock housings. it's 10x worse when they put them in the fog lamps as well.

I would equate it to putting a pair of airplane lights on the front of your car.
