Has any one with a fmic tried moving the mass air flow sensor from the inlet of the turbo to as closs to the throttle body as possible. Would this not give a more accurate reading when trying to tune. Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated.

I also need an ecu for an 02-03 WRX.

my guess is that the intercooler piping diameter would be on the small side therefore not enough cross flow section for the MAF

We have "tuned" a number of these, they call them "blow-through MAFs" in deference to the stock type "draw-through MAF." They are HORRIBLE. Absolutely untunable IMHO. The turbulence across the MAF is so bad that the "best" you can do is with an unbelievably wavy maf calibration table, and it's still horrible.

Between Christian from Cobb, Doug and myself, we've never had what we would call an acceptable result from the blow-throughs.

He has a big-maf. The problem is it sits right over the collectors on the header so the intake temps are very hot.

Best thing to do is get some pipe bent and put the intake in the fender.

The intake to the turbo on my car is a piece of crap and I was just trying to see what other alternatives there are. The MAF sits way to close to the turbo on my car. Some of the blow through MAF I have seen sit about six inches from the throttle body. I would think that you would get the best reading for the AFR, but it seems that I am wrong. I guess there are not many other alternatives besides building my own CAI. Does anyone know anywhere to source varying mandrel bend tubing that is not exhaust tubing? I can design, build, and weld my own at school but I just need to know where to get the materials hopefully somewhere close to the Roswell/Alpharetta/Marietta area.
    Thanks for the input guys.
