well once you get one and figure out how to use it you'll most likely never go back. they are def worth every penny in my mind and i never get popups like i used to with internet explorer. however the next best thing is mozilla i think. much better than IE

don't know if this will get moved but i had a pc for years and when i got a mac it was like all of my computing problems went away. the operating system is so much better and if you need to you can get windows based programs and use them on a mac. also the you really don't even need secutrity for it (although it is offered) b/c maybe 80-90% of people use pc's and so bad mean ppl who make viruses spend most of their time creating viruses and other bad programs meant to harm pc users. it's not worth their time to try and figure out apples tougher operating system. i am not all that computer savvy but that is what i know and from my experience owning an apple laptop and desktop i will never go back to windows, microsoft or anything that has to do with bill gates and his exploits.

+1 for mac...that's all I've used for years (I do have to use PC's for some things at work)....with the newer unix-based OS you will probably be seeing more Mac viruses though....plenty of evil unix peeps...

from what i've heard apples are way better for editing things like photos and video. i know that i might have shown a bias so far but for editing things like that...go with mac. best thing to do is go to apple's website and read reviews on what other people think.

Yeah I had a bad problem with some spyware ads. A program called spysherrif actually ended up on ym computer and it caused all kind of problems. I ended up going on basically a nerd forum and they gave me a step by step process of how to clean my computer. Worked amazingly. Now I run Ad-aware and use mozilla and aside from a few small things, everything has been working fine.

Ditto the others, If your doing a lot of photo/video editing go mac. If your just wanting a mac b/c they "appear" more secure then just get a nice intel box / etc and toss Debian on it or another Linux distro...

OH by the way, make sure you don't use more than one constant spyware/virus checker. They'll mess eachother up.
