Does anyone know if there is any performance difference between a regular cat back exhaust and a "hush" cat back exhaust?

I'm assuming your talking about the Borla hush cat-back... The 'hush' in the product title just implies that the exhaust is not that loud... Another company called Maddad makes a cat-back called 'whisper quiet'... performance is the same.

havn't seen the hush in person but seen some videos... has a good tone... had a wrx in the shop today with a bosal turbo back system and it was pretty quiet also... quiet surprising with it being a three inch system with no cats...

I have the Maddad whisper and I love it. I had the hks carbon ti before this so I came from a loud exhaust..its like night and day with the whisper. Its full stainless, full 3" and subtle looking. Exhaust note is pretty subdued until you get on it. A real relief on the freeways/long drives.

I had a Hush before and I loved it. Ironically, it was actually louder than my current setup, which includes a non-resonated Stromung midpipe and Prodrive axleback exhaust. I'm also completely catless. I don't know if this speaks more to the baffling ability of the Prodrive exhaust or to the loudness of the Hush. Regardless, the Hush sounded great and I loved the dual tips.

^^^ Prodrive is pretty damn quiet... My buddies has the same DP as me + the prodrive and its like 2 different cars... My perrin cat-back drowns him out when running side by side.........

Shaolin, I have the Borla Hush catback on my subie. If you're up in Roswell, feel free to drop by sometime & check it out. FWIW, I've been pretty damn happy w it.
