I'm new to this forum as this is my first thread. I met a guy Mark at advanced auto here in East Atlanta. He told me I could get software for cheap on here. I can't afford a $700 Access Port new. Any ideas or clues?

    Cheers,

You can get open source tuning or buy a tactrix cable and run romraidor and tune it yourself. I would highly suggest getting an open source tune from one of the vendors on here.

I would strongly advise that you avoid the "cheaper alternative" and begin saving for an access port. At the end of everything you will be much happier.

I highly discourage crappy open source. It's slow and cumbersome. Spend the money on an Accessport.

...and the tune will cost more due to the time Open Source takes to tune.

If you really "can't" afford the AP, then you should probably keep saving before modding the car... I know people don't like to hear it, but if you don't have a little margin in your finances, you shouldn't be modding... Unless you live at home and your parents have an extra car for you in case there's trouble. If that's the case, skip the AP and get an AEM ;) (J/K)
