Intercooler Screen Mesh

For all cars with the same intercooler as the 04 model.

Materials:
2 sheets of 20x8 metal cloth (I used galvanized steel cloth) (cloth=mesh)
Black Paint (optional) (krylon)
Pink Paint (optional) (krylon)

Tools:
Pliers
Scissors or wire cutters (if you bought the sheet bigger than the size specified above)

Assembly
Layer one sheet of mesh over the other, making sure to not have them perfectly centered. Try moving the screen up/down and left/right one or 2 squares, fold the hanging sides back to the main body. Optional: (Paint black, and use a STI stencil to paint the STI logo in the center)

Applying To IC
Open hood, and center the screen on the IC, now bend the sides over the metal flaps on the left and right side of the IC. Depending on your folding method, that is, if you can, fold the top part of the screen over the top flap of the IC. make sure it is folded tight by squeezing the screen to the flap with pliers.

To clean, just unfold, remove and wash.

Practical Uses
Protects Your IC from objects that may potentially harm fins. (ie rocks).
But most importantly, it makes it easier to clean off dead bugs and makes sure leaves do not get stuck in the fins of the IC.
