Hey guys, after 14 years of wanting an STi, I finally got one! Man, 14 years sounds crazy, doesn't it. I can't believe I was able to wait that long but I've been in school and wasn't able to afford the right Subaru until I got a full time job. I fell in love with the 2.5RS when I was 15 and got a steering wheel and pedals for my computer for Christmas. It came with a Rally Championship game (I think that's what it was called) which introduced me to WRC and the 2.5RS. Ever since that game, I've been determined.

Anyway, I knew I wanted an 05-07 STi in WRB with <30k miles, no modifications, and in near perfect shape. I don't have to tell you guys how freaking difficult it was to find that. The worst of it was when a dealer got one that was nearly exactly what I was looking for in North Carolina. I called the day it was listed (I obsessively checked autotrader and CL) and told him I would drive there the next morning. As I was 4 hours into the 6 hour drive, I called when they opened to remind them I was coming. I knew the car was still in the garage/detail shop being cleaned up but I was willing to commit that day. They told me it had already sold! So frustrating but it worked out for the better.

I found my 2006 WRB STi in Marietta. A guy bought it new, put 19k miles on it then had a couple kids and needed to sell it. I met him the day he listed it, gave him a holding deposit once we agreed on a price. I heard him tell his wife I was impulsive...I just grinned. He asked for 26k. I averaged the estimated values on edmunds, nada, and kbb and offered him 24,500. We settled on 25k. I paid for it to be inspected by Subaru at Kennesaw to make sure it was Ok. The next time we met to transfer dollars for titles, he said "Not that I think you'll ever do this but if you sell it, you won't have any problems. The day after you and I met, I was bombarded with emails and phone calls." I just grinned.

Aaaanyway, so far, I've debadged, got rubber floor liners and mud flaps. Next on the list?

    1) stereo from a 2007 (for the aux port)
    2) Roof rack (with a mod from nasioc so i don't have to use q-clips)
    3) Gold wheels
    4) turbo back exhaust

if you go with a 3'' turbo back, youre going to need some sort of tune
you'll come to learn that almost anything you do power wise - youre going to need it tuned
you could go with a cobb ap or open source tuning from a local shop
