two days ago i had half a tank of gas, turned off car when i got home.. buddy calls wants me to come over. I get in the car about an hour later, and the low gas light is on, with half a tank, it stayed on the whole drive to his house. When i came back out and started the car to leave it was off. Well tonight leaving a restaurant, i get into my car with a quarter of tank (took a pic w/ my phone) and the light is on, i drive for about 30 seconds, still on flat ground, and the light goes off. WTH!?
have you removed any ground underneath the hood. mine did that after i installed my transmission and it was a ground wire that was causeing it.
happened to me when i first got my car, so i finally tested out how long it would last, and ran out of gas... now it only lights up when it's really low.
i havent touched any wiring or such.. and no it wasnt the PHx, i cant blame everything on that tube now can i milo.
it might be 2 things, one is ur gas lvl pump is gone bad or crazy or the ground... try one of these things, emty ur whole tank by burning all the fuel & when u do that have a 5 gallon gas tank in ur trunk.. then go get a full tank later at a gas station, and see if the problem was sloved.. sumtimes the gas reader thinks it's getting emty cause of gas lvl pump is stuck to sumthing in ur fuel tank.. sumtimes there maybe a possiblity.. try it let us know
