Manual Transmission Oil question.

    okey, i just finished swaping in my new tranny.

    My question is: What type of oil goes into the manual 5 speed wrx Tranny? And how much?

    5 quarts of Subaru brand Extra S fluid. You can get it from SoG or you can get it from certain members on here. Some have it, you just have to search out there. I can't remember anyone who recently said they had some, but it's out there. :)

    kk thx, should subaru dealership have it?

    or should autozone have it?

    Subaru dealer only...Classic does not carry it, but Subaru of Gwinnett does. For that, you have to bring your own container to put the fluid in.

    Lots of theories on this, but I will not get into it as the Subaru fluid will work just fine if you don't mind going to subaru with a bucket to get it :)

    I said 5 so he can do the rear diff while he's in there....wouldn't hurt considering all the other troubles with the car so far!

    ok, so ill go to subaru dealership and got some. so its 4 and not 5 quarts? thx guys.

    Its 4 quarts for the tranny and about .8 for the rear diff. If you get 5 qts then you still have .2 qts to spill all over your pants/hands/driveway.
