I'm new to the whole scooby scene. I currently drive a 95 civic and I plan on buying a 02-03 wrx within a year or so. I joined the site mainly to research the pros/cons of the 02-03 wrx before I buy. and if you're on import atlanta this is the same slovic-fcc.

Welcome to the site. The bug eye is a great car. One of the downfalls of it is it's tranny. It's not that strong when you get up to the big hp. However they are quite cool to look at. IMO

    ^^ yup, and welcome...
If you stay with the stock turbo, addd most of the other goodies (TB exhaust, inlet, UP, Engine management) this should put you in the 230-250 hp/tq range to all 4 wheels and lag, well there is none.
The tranny should hold up just fine, NO hard launches (side stepping), turbo wont be all that good to redline so you should be good there.

Get while the getting is good, there are several for sale at UNBELIEVABLE prices. Mine for instance I have to keep as I have a fortune in it. I have seen some as nicely modded as mine for thousands less that I could even justify selling mine for.

    good luck

^^that first one is a steal, just the drive line is worth a good portion of the asking price.

thanks for the warm welcome. I'm really looking at getting this car as a daily driver as I already have a project civic. but as far as simple mods go I'm looking at doing a vf-39, fmic, Cobb accessport, and an indiva turbo-back with a good shock/spring combo for a fun daily driver.
