really nice, did you have to cut anything to get it to fit?

NO no cuttin required.....well i take that back.. the head unit bolts up... the the navi unit is under the passenger seat.. i have the antenna mounted up against the windsheild right in the center of the dash ... one small hole had to be drilled but nothing to bad... and i have an ipod controller that lets me controll my ipod using the HU it is run under the console trim and comes out in the lower section of the armrest.... pretty cool i think.....

I would have rather had the kenwood but it was twice as expensive once you add all the navi stuff...

It did however greatly increse the pleasure of listening to stock speakers....

how do the rear stockers sound. i'm going to get my stereo put in soon. probably this weekend. i know i can replace the fronts with my 6.5" kenwoods, but how do the rears sound with more power going to them?
my HU has a cross over built in, so there will only be mids and highs going to them. i can controll the sound to each set of speakers with the Excelon HU. so cool! also, i'm going to have my 15" sub put in. can't wait.
my folks got me GPS, also. it mounts to the windshield. Magellan® Roadmate™ 700 Vehicle GPS System. it is so nice being able to just pull off at the first sight of traffic and get home with out a hitch. just need to find a way to mount it to side of the center console or something.

Do you usually have people sitting in the back of your car? The rear speakers do absolutely nothing for anyone in the front. If you don't have people in the back often or ever, then don't waste money replacing rear speakers.

man, that was quick. so you blew'em already? are they the typical paper BS speakers? or did they at least use a foam/rubber for the speaker surrounds?
i hate factory audio equipment. they just need to make the speakers and UH an option.

My initial impressions when installing my Alpine HU was that the stock speakers sounded a lot clearer but cant handle high volume with much bass. I listen to it with about 70% faded to the front.

I think the speakers would be fine if you set up crossovers or used "bass blockers" and just had a sub for lows/midbass. They're still low end OEM speakers and other than the lack of bass capacity are not too terrible.

i wondered how that unit fit in our cars....i might just consider that. Only bad thing is it takes an external dvd player rather than having one built in.
