That's pretty cool. I'm glad Ecuteck is now giving their users the ability to select between different base maps. It doesen't look like it does volitile memory updates though ( as in Cobb Real time maps. )

I don't know about that. The only downside is you have to have a laptop whereas the Cobb uses the Accessport thingy. However I have a CarPC so it'll work for me :)

    WHOOOOO-HOOOOO post #500!

this is angering considering there is no upgrade path for those of us with delta dash. I think i'll just live with out map switching on ecutek or sell my delta dash copy.

    grrrrrr :(

    no doubt!

This is a good deal for the people who are buying the bundle but for existing users it sucks.

So far Ecutek has 950 of my hard earned dollars. 650 for the license,
300 for the Deltal Dash and now they want another 350 for a cable that will let me flash my ecu myself? I don't think so.

It was for this reason that I went the openecu route. For the cost of an $80 cable I could switch between ecutek maps tuned by my tuner.

I guess it will work until they figure out how to lock the non-dbw ecu's. When the figure that out I'll go with a hydra.

I just wish the displays for both Ecutek Monitor and AP were more visually pleasing....I've seen some piggyback displays that were just super cool visually....

i agree. if you had this on a car pc it wouldnt be visual pleasing. on my mac i have a link to a place that had a demo piece that pluged into your odbII that had a rca video out. it displayed rpm, mph, brake, gear, boost, and with an add on it had hp tq and gforce. they where analog or digital mix diaplay and you could chose the size and placement of window on your screen. too bad this was a demo. i wrote them and never got a responce. ill link up tom.

So this is not an option for 05/DBW cars because ecutek locks the ecu?

I think that Ecutek has send legal letters over to Colby and others over at openecu.org becuase they don't want them to have this ability with tools like ECUflash.

How is it Ecuteks place to tell colby what they can and can't put in their software? If people can reverse engineer PDF locking, i think a subaru ecu should be fair game too :)

Agreed, I think it is legal to reverse engineer but ECUtek may have a point about copywrights.

The post from EcuTEK appears to be vague in it's accusation, and it looks like it is warning not to copy the copywrited ECUtek software. Which is what tools like ecuflash do when they pull a flash image to a pc.
