So I'm thinking hard about just biting the bullet and getting rid of the L. Just curious if I can even get what i need to out of it. I have seen them selling anywhere from $1200-$3500. Mine is in decent shape, has a few minor upgrades, but it is an automatic (even tho it shifts perfectly fine for its age).

I bought the car with some serious smoking issues and have since remedied those by taking better care of her than the previous owner. Every now and then i get a hint of smoke from under the hood, but the car runs 1000 times better than when i got it and runs great for a car with 178k. I regularly drive to savannah and wouldnt hesitate to drive it to Los Angeles tomorrow.

It now has an STi Axleback, '03 wrx wheels w/BFG Gforce sports with ~75% tread left, '03 wrx front and rear seats (all flawless), subaru all weather floormats, '03 wrx stock 6 disc, Infinity Kappa components up front, rainbow speakers (german car upgraded speaker company) in the back deck, whitline rear endlinks, and will come with (uninstalled): 2 blown 2.0l blocks (planned to take the two apart making one good block with new rotating assem), Perrin 25mm rear sway bar (needs taller rear mounts), and a few other misc. parts left from the L and my old WRX. Body is perfectly straight, no major dents, dings, creases or cracks.

downsides: automatic (perfectly shifting however), several small scratches and bad touch up paint job by PO, mismatched interior.

this is the PERFECT candidate screaming for a WRX/STi swap.

just curious what you guys that would seriously be looking for a GC shell, or decent daily driver would be willing to pay for it. if it sounds like i can get enough it will be for sale tomorrow.

Why didn't this come up in early March when I could have given you cash for it? I would love to have a car like that to DD to work and back and leave the STI at home most days.

I've been thinking of it for a while. Made a thread around then about getting rid of it for a bike. But again the price has to be right, if I can't afford to get another vehicle then what's the point?

Yeah, I could have given you around $1500 but from your description it is worth more than that.

I just want a decent automatic to DD to work and back. I don't have the money to get one right now. Maybe the first of the year when i get my tax refund next year. :p

How much are you looking to get for it? I honestly don't see it going for more than $1500-2k. I think you should just keep it until you can afford something else or it breaks down.

We'll see. Just gauging interest. And no the plan is to get a bike, I think I may have a back up car lined up till I buy that car or another in the winter. The possibility of the spare car has pushed me to consider this.
