Yup, trying to get the right exposure during a lightning storm isn't the easiest thing. Hardest part is all the ambient light I have to deal with in the city.

    Those are mine.

The only camera gear I have is the 40D and the 28-135.
That second picture was taken with an XSi and I'm pretty sure with the 18-55.
    I need a wide-angle lens.

I guess Ill just post up anything that I come across on here that is worth noting. Thank you for sharing thus far. And speaking of photography, I have been considering the 365 flickr experiment -- has anyone else?

Here are the only two photos from my flickr account :)

Nice pictures, lostinthewoods! I especially like the 2nd and last one.
Was that person/were they trying to make something in particular with the lights? Lol

8 days out in the back country makes u go loopy, jk. We were up late waiting to see if a grizzly would come back down to a dead carcass. Figured it was clear and decided to see what would happen with head lamps on.

    Here is another one...

Tonight should yield some good pics. I forgot I wasn't shooting in raw the last time so I should have more to play with this time.

You guys stop doing this to me. This makes me want to get a good DSLR even more. I've got too many other things I need to get first.

Got a couple decent images, but with the way the storm came in I was shooting at an angle through a double paned window so most of what I got was doubled.

I think I've posted this one before. I really need to actually go through the photos I shot while out in the PacNW (shame on me for taking so long).

And this bridge reminds me of Half-Life 2 :)

Thanks dude. It was surprisingly difficult to stitch the ocean together -- damn windy IIRC. I need to rotate and square off the bridge shot. I may tweak the contrast a little bit more as well.

So. I don't know if I think this is cool or not. Was just a random overexposed shot I took. I think I like it....what do you guys think?

    nice night shots Peter

It looks like he stopped down the aperature f16 or greater, that would give the star 'pattern'.

Yessirrr. Second time going there in about 1.5/2 years.

    Also, Thanks guys!
Alex, I was actually just using my 28-135 without a filter. And yeah, Jeff's right. The aperture was closed to f/13 at a 13s exposure. The first picture was actually my favorite shot.

It was an interesting night this past Friday... Hahah.
Saw a couple of girls taking part in a "Chinese Fire Drill" while on the bridge.
Saw a ton of almost accidents. (Typical, right?)
Witnessed the helicopter of the hospital behind us land down which was pretty cool.

Overall, a fun, really cold and windy night with a couple of good friends.
