I was up at SOG today getting the Rumble Bee Serviced (fresh trans fluid FTW). I was there pretty much only with the service staff, so I snooped around the new Sti. Overall impression: meh. It looks real aggressive from some angles, looks completely awkward from others. I really would still like to drive it- all the reviews say the suspension is perfect for bumpy roads (read: Downtown Atlanta). But as many others have been saying, for $40k (Actual Sticker SRP $39,087.00) I am getting a bimmer, no matter how much alcantara you put in it :ugh: This move from "boy racer to international player" is more like "boy racer to uninspired mass market hatchback." Bugeyes FTW. Here are some pics: I definitely like the STi grille a lot more than the normal WRX. Sexy bulges, fugly wing. This pissed me off! Fake ducting on a Subaru? Leave that weak sauce for Ford! Big honkin brakes! (Yes, the picture is sideways) Comes complete with JDM Hazzard Button! Well I guess its USDM now... No STi on the intercooler? Lame! the 39k is for the BBS/Navi package. msrp for the base STi is 35k. the package for the BBS and fogs is another 2k on top of that. so, if you can get invoice pricing on the base model, you should be able to pick it up for somewhere around 33k. hell, most people will replace the wheels anyway, and i think that it looks much better without the fogs, but that is just me.
This ride just doesn't do anything for me...I wouldn't buy one...It seems just like another Mazda...LOL...I wish that they would go retro on the STi...Just my .02 cents....I only like the front end... Mark
FYI, the side vents are ducted to the engine bay, and are thus not fake. How dare you compare anything subaru to ford. I thought you were better than that. Also I think subaru finally realized a lot of people will be ditching the stock intercooler, and saved their paint. There's like 9 logos inside the car and like 5 on the outside. Not enough for you?
