In the middle of my rebuild today. Got a brand new short block from subaru. Everything was going good until we started taking the cams out. The cams are slightly "scratched" as well as the housing on the heads. Can this be polished out ?

    No need to panic.

Mine looked 10x worse than that.

Just knock down any ridges but don't take away anything else.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E600 Safari/6533.18.5)

Ball Engine would defininately be a competent choice given what's up.
