I bought my WRX heavily modded. It has 300whp. There is really nothing more to do to the engine that hasn't already been done. But it still has the stock headers.

How much hp and or torque gain will I get if i put some new headers on? And is the gain worth the money?

from what ive heard about headers... dont do it... the couple STi's with headers that scott has tuned made decent torque but low HP... plus ive also heard that replacing the stock headers will kill the boxer sound... im sure there are people out here much more knowledgeable than me and maybe they could give u some advice

I have the hks headers on my car and it gave me power throughout the powerband..seems to help the spool of my vf22 also..as far as the boxer sound..if you go with equal length headers you will lose a little bit of it..unequal headers though you still retain the boxer sound..hope this helps

Not sure what Miranda has on her car, but her car no longer sounds like an STi.

Well I have the APS SR40 turbo, I could always put in a larger turbo if I really wanted to. I was just thinking of how I can increase my HP and Torque. Not sure if I am really wanting to, just thinking of my options, that is if I have any.

Weapon wrX, how much HP does you car have? Also how big is that vf22 turbo? Where abouts in Duluth are ya located? My address is Lawrenceville but I'm closer to Duluth.

im right off of satellite near SoG..as far as HP i would say im close to 300 at the wheels..not sure though..i need to get dyno'd..the vf22 is not a huge turbo but i have heard of people being able to hold 25lbs of boost to redline..it is quite a bit larger than the td04 though..i need to get a FMIC so i can get a more aggressive tune..but it is definately fast

im curious to see how much power the vf22 makes at 3000rpm... even if its not peak power, i wanna see how the power of a vf22 at 3000 compares to the power of a td04 at 3000... so im curious to see ur dyno plot kris :D

APS SR30 turbocharger versus VF22 turbocharger air flow chart
    [IMG]
The above chart shows the highest performing VF Series turbocharger performance envelope inside that of the SR30 turbocharger (see through envelope). Whilst the SR30 offers similar air flow capacity to the VF22, the most striking fact is that the SR30 turbocharger provides a much wider operational range. What can't be seen in these charts is the fact that the SR30 offers higher durability than the VF22 particularly as the boost and air flow limits are approached.
The chart below shows a clearer view of the inside of the SR30 and VF22 envelopes.
here is a flow chart for the sr40
    [IMG]
now as you can see the chart shows that the sr40 should flow about 20% more air than the vf22 but i have read a few post where people dont see any significant difference other than build quality compared to the vf22 and ofcourse the price tag..i'd like to take a ride in yours to compare for myself though..

that's cool with me, i'm not going to be in town this weekend (i've prolly said this a million times on other treads so forgive me) but i will be at the dyno day next weekend.

pm your phone number and maybe i'll stop by sometime since i don't live that far away.

Carbon fiber hood is not really going to save you any weight, We have fiberglass hoods so you might save a pound if you are lucky.

what he said...CF looks friggin sweet though!!.. hint: paint your sideskirts :hint
also your turbo is cabable of running higher boost levels..that is a good way to make more power! how much boost are you running?

If you want to save a couple pounds, say 10 or so in the front end, get a performance battery. Couple of the guys at the dyno day had ultra lite batteries.

I have the DC Sports header on my car currently, and I like it alot, I will say the following:

My EGT's settled down about 200-300deg less than normal.
    Still hits full boost
Lag is more apparent, but makes it easier to drive day-to-day boost<good/bad I dunno>
No drop in Boost still reaching target boost.
Rips through the midrange, and top end much better than before.
Sound=Different, but still boxery, they are unequal length.
In areas where the car isnt in boost yet, the car strangely doesnt feel much slower.
In short... Wish I had done sooner, price was right $330.00

Havent driven the car for about 34 days, tilll this point in time where it was back together to check everything over, so Maybe it just feels faster than normal, however my friend agrees it rips harder than before by a long shot. Only power changes were fuel pump, and the header.

with new headers, you would not realize much in hp gain..spend you money on something else...
