on my 04, we were installing the tranny cooler. Noticed that the tray/bracket the radiator core sits in is almost an inch bigger than the core itself. does an sti radiator fill up that space with a bigger core?
A lot. STi and WRX radiators are thick. They should both be about 1 inch thick. same part numbers for 5/6mt in 04~07. Autox are same thickness, but with AT cooler. 02~03 is same thickness, but no upper rad cap...part number changes to the 04+ rad and you have to order a parts kit for the cap conversion. The support core is wider(deeper one could say) than the rad.
ok, thanks... putting in the cooler, i saw the support was so much wider than the actual core... was wondering if it hinted there was a bigger oem one to be found...
