So my radiator is rubared on the WRX so I got a great deal on a Koyo. Only thing is that it is for a STi. I got another cap cause my current radiator does not have one but there is a overflow or something that is on the stem by the radiator cap and I am not sure where that goes? Does it go to the overflow tank?

If someone would please post a pic of their STi's radiator set-up

    Thanks a lot,
    Michael

You can make it work with some mods. Steven(KingRex) has an Sti Radiator on his Bugeye.

Hopefully he will chime in and tell you how to do it.

You have to use the FACTORY 2nd rad cap and line setup. If you dont, you'll get air in the system every time the car cycles thru cool down.

The 04+ style system uses two caps.

The traditional looking one on the tank is a lower pressure than the round one found on the radiator.

The one on the tank relieves pressure to the overflow tank, so does the one on the radiator, but it does so at a higher pressure.

The one on the tank also draws fluid back in from the overflow tank as the engine cools and the coolant contracts. However, the one on the radiator does not.

    that sounds rite.

there is an updated radiator from subaru for the older radiators that came without a cap . the updated radiator comes with a cap and also a different line set up that re-routes to the cap on the radiator and goes back to the overflow tank. its the same setup on a sti or 04 and up wrx. ill try and post up some pics and part numbers

    wrx updated radiator part numbers

    manual trans radiator- 45111FE101.
    automatic trans radiator- 45111FE111.
    overflow pipe-45175FE010.
    overflow hose A- 45162FE000.

    Thanks guys,

kingwrx: do you guys keep those hoses in stock at classic? I will probably swing by some time next week to get them but I hate that old man that works behind the parts counter. (he can't even find the part when you give him the number)

I usually copy it from acrobat and it'll usually paste into paint shop pro, make .gif or .jpg of it and host it somewhere.
