Yeah I've enjoyed petit so much the last few years and I really wanted to go to Daytona last year. It will be tricky, but with school just starting I shouldn't have much going on then. If my friend is serious, then I'm going.
FWIW, I'm going; I think this makes the sixth or seventh year in a row for me. I'm driving down Friday after work and heading back after the race Sunday. It's always a lot of fun, but I do like the ALMS cars better. I guess this is your only chance to attend a big league 24 hour long race inside of the United States, though. I heard they are expecting a big attendance this year- hopefully I won't have too much trouble finding some space on the infield. I'm definitely a little worried about that since I'll be getting there so late. I wish I could offer a hook up on tickets. Every other year I've gotten awesome tickets for free through Rolex, but the friend I got that through changed jobs and lost the benefit. This year I had to buck up like everyone else. You can get a four day ticket with infield parking and a pit pass for $85- not bad for an event of this caliber.
So, just curious... Am I the only dork on this site that ended up going? Taking a break and just thought I'd ask. Give me a yell if you're here and want to watch some late night racin.' A good time so far and plan to be up LATE! My crew has a bad habit of passing out by midnight.
