So is this a race or a cruise? The website says the fastest times recieve a prize, but that its not technically a "race".

Kids street racing is bad!!!

 

Its a race and it sounds like a stupid idea to me. Just what we need a bunch of ricers drving as fast as they can across the city to see who can win the newest strut tower bar on the market.

 

so dont race. treat it like every other cannon ball gum ball run. we roll is last as wrx atlanta and make a statement about street racing at the same time. show up just in time for the party and intentionally dead last

 

There is no statement to be made, by just being there you are promoting their event.

Personally I think this is worse than street racing. Atleast most of the street racers I know run at night on roads no one is on.

well we are still at least dropping of toys for tots, i would rather try to convince people street racing is wrong by example then to do nothing and hope for the best.

Since this is a timed event taking place on public roads, from WRXatlanta's point of view, it is street racing. I wouldn't be surprised if it is considered street racing by law enforcement officials as well. Standing by our views on such matters, this event will not be supported by WRXatlanta. We do not want to have any association with potential mishaps that could occur.

Since there is obvious interest in a cruise, WRXatlanta will organize one in the near future. Our event will not be timed.
