for that, it's all pretty much the same....but, I'd do it based on the engine, not the car....but it's all the same!

Not really true....I don't think the DPs would be the same as the STi has a different turbo. I would get a DP for the STi. Catback is up to j00. :)

    Good question, bee tee dubs.

does he have a vf39 though? if so, any 3" downpipe for wrx or sti will fit... someone here is selling a Helix right now which I would take a look at, I have one and recommend.

A 03 wrx is the same as an 06 sti, as far as the exhaust is concerned.
No it's not the same turbo, but it has the same flange on the turbo and is routed the same way to the back of the car.

I agree with SonicBoom, go look at the catted downpipe thats for sale and then pickup a cat-back afterwards.

wow, I can't believe how early you guys are...

I say get a cat-less downpipe with flat 3" flange( i.e. no 2.5" flange because you will need a donute gasket to mate up to a 3" cat-back, basically it's also a bottleneck) to mate up to any 3" cat-back exhausts you pick.
