I just picked up the October issue of Subiesport to find (surprise!) a test of the new WRX. They gave it the same review everyone else has pretty much, likening it to a college party girl who's "grown out of the short skirts and one night stands." Whatever, anyway that wasn't the exciting part.

The stock (note "stock"....as in everything) car dynoed at 205whp and 239ft/lb tq. Once again, at the wheels. If ya do the math, that means that if the 224hp quoted by the factory is right, that's like 260 ft/lbs at the crank. That's pretty nuts. I don't understand why it would be misquoted so, but there you have it.

With minor ecu tweaking they got it up to about 280 ft/lbs at the wheels, and about 220whp. Once again, stock everything else.

I like my car a whole lot more even than I did before.

That means you gotta get your car to a dyno and post some graphs for us, so we can see what local tuners can do with this new WRX!

Its not surprising, in fact, its much like when the first 06 wrx's came out with the 2.5L motor.

Anyways, go get your car tuned immediately!

my stock 05' wrx dynoed at 198 whp and 202 wtq at topspeed's dyno. i wouldn't trust anything unless it's a relative measurement.

Batlground off of Altanta Rd. is a good place and depending on where you live Topspeed also gets really good results out of their cars that they tune.

    Topspeed talk to Doug
Batlground talk to Scott (or Dan)

Oh and throw some mods on that thing and lets see some crazy numbers

SOG no longer has a Dyno. Per a post from WJM last week, or the week before, they sold it off. WJM was excited about the freed up bay now that the Dyno is gone.

As for where to go, as said above, Batlground or Topspeed are your best choices depending on where you live or work.

Sweet. I'm thinking about batlground. How much do they charge hourly? Neal at SOG said between 80 and 100, and one of their former technicians works there, no?
