Alright I'm t-minus 1 week away from getting a wrx hopefully, but theres 1 question*yes another*. i heard the stock 2006,07 speakers are very weak, but how are the upgraded tweeters and 4 speakers? and is the sub and amp even worth getting*i might just go aftermarket on that one if so*

unless you get the TR, i think all wrx come with the tweeter package, but not the sub.

I have a WRX, not TR. The speakers suck stock, however, if you run an amp to them and take away all the bass, they are not that bad.

I would definitely go aftermarket as opposed to the Factory Sub. Even a cheap Sub and Amp will sound better.

FWIW, Best Buy currently sells the Kenwood 200W 10" powered sub for $199. It's a pretty decent setup and very very easy to wire in.

Eh, lucky for me I've never had that good of a system, so they sound alright for me. :)

Personally I think it's a great, old white man's setup (even though I'm 21). Rap doesn't sound very good through it, but most of the music I listen to sounds good enough.

But yeah, I guess if you have the option, just go aftermarket.

I got a good deal on the factory subwoofer/amp deal. But the truth is that tiny sub isn't worth two sh*t's under any circumstances.

The amp however works great. I just unwired the little sub, and ran a length of cable to my Memphis 10 that I've had for a while and the 200 watts or whatever is in that little box was MORE than enough to make the Memphis sub sound really good. And it's an über-clean amp install since it's completely out of the way. I can unwire the 10 in two seconds and remove it if ever I feel like it.

Honestly I'm surprised more people aren't getting on the idea of putting the amp in the cabin instead of in the trunk. The power wires are already there under the seat. :dunno
